We have traced the Boyce family back to Wexford County, Ireland. William Boyce was born in 1798. He married Jane Needham (born 1811) on June 20, 1832.
William and Jane had three children all born on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Valentine was born in 1833, Elizabeth in 1836 and John in 1838.
Valentine was born on May 31, 1833. He married Jane Ann Rattray (born 1836). Their children were William, James, Zebiah (f), Isabella, Uzziah (m), Fade and George.
From the 1891 census on Prince Edward Island, Canada, we know Jane was a tailoress, William a carpenter, Isabella a dressmaker, Uzziah a farmer, and Fade and George tailors.
Fade Rattray Boyce was born June 6, 1872. He married Elizabeth Sanders (born September 17, 1874). Their first four children, James Victor, Earl Winfred, Daniel Gordon and Genevieve Agnes were born on P.E.I. The family moved to the United States where Fade and Elizabeth had three more children, Sybil Isablle, Emma Louise and Joseph Sanders.
James Victor Boyce was born in Belle River, Prince Edward Island, Canada on July 9, 1896. He married Euncie MacDougall July 4, 1924. They had three children; James Victor, jr., Elizabeth Genevieve and Eva Pearl.
Eva Pearl was born September 17, 1929. She married in 1947 and had seven children.
